About The Role

Stadium cleaners play a vital role in United Maintenance maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for fans and staff at Chicago’s Major League Baseball stadiums. Their responsibilities include removing trash, sanitizing restrooms, cleaning seating areas and concourses, and responding quickly to spills or hazards during and after games. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, the ability to work in large crowds and fast-paced environments, and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards. You should be comfortable standing/walking for long periods, performing repetitive motions, lifting 30–50 lbs., and working independently or with a partner. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (we E‑Verify).

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Cleaning: Stadium cleaners are responsible for sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in various areas, including seating sections, concourses, and restrooms.
  2. Trash Removal: Regularly emptying trash bins and recycling containers, as well as picking up litter from seating areas and walkways, is a crucial part of the job.
  3. Sanitization: Cleaners must disinfect surfaces, including restrooms, sinks, countertops, and other high-touch areas, to ensure a safe environment for guests.
  4. Restocking Supplies: This includes replenishing bathroom supplies such as toilet paper and soap, as well as ensuring that cleaning supplies are adequately stocked.
  5. Event Preparation and Cleanup: Cleaners may be required to prepare the stadium before events and perform thorough cleanups afterward, which includes cleaning dugouts and locker rooms.
  6. Collaboration: Working alongside other cleaning staff and stadium personnel to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard is essential.

Skills and Requirements

  1. Physical Stamina: The job often requires standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects, so physical fitness is important.
  2. Attention to Detail: Cleaners must be detail-oriented to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
  3. Teamwork and Communication: Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with other staff and responding to cleaning requests promptly.
