Key Responsibilities

Data Governance Strategy and Framework

• Establish the data governance strategy for all front-end commercial data including customer master data, account hierarchies, sales territories, and sales organizational structures

• Define ownership rules, data standards, and stewardship responsibilities that ensure accuracy and consistency in customer and sales data

Customer and Sales Data Management

• Oversee all customer master data including creation, maintenance, hierarchy structure, segmentation, and alignment to pricing and contracts

• Own the design and governance of the sales territory model including rules for assignments, coverage changes, and alignment to strategic accounts

• Maintain the integrity of the sales organizational structure including sales team roles, reporting lines, and region or segment mapping

CRM and Front-End System Integration

• Ensure high quality data in the CRM including accounts, contacts, opportunities, pipelines, pricing fields, and customer attributes

• Partner with Sales, Pricing, Marketing, and IT to define standard CRM workflows that reinforce correct data entry and utilization

• Align CRM data with ERP and other systems so that customer and sales structures are consistent across the commercial ecosystem

Analytics and Commercial Insight Enablement

• Improve the reliability of commercial reporting by ensuring accuracy and alignment in customer and sales data

• Support Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Leadership with data needed for forecasting, pipeline reviews, territory planning, and account prioritization

• Validate the data that powers performance dashboards, customer segmentation, coverage models, and sales incentive structures

Cross Functional Leadership and Change Adoption

• Build and lead a network of data stewards within Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Finance

• Train Sales and Commercial teams on data standards, correct CRM usage, and the importance of maintaining accurate customer and territory data

• Drive adoption of consistent processes across the organization through communication, training, and partnership

Continuous Improvement

• Identify gaps in customer data, territory design, and sales structure alignment and lead corrective efforts

• Develop improvement plans for CRM utilization, data enrichment, customer segmentation, and front-end data automation

• Build the long-term roadmap for commercial data excellence including advanced territory modeling, automated data checks, and integrated master data management

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, Data Management, or related field

• Five to eight years of experience in data governance, commercial systems, sales operations, or master data management

• Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics

• Strong understanding of customer data structures, sales territory design, and sales team organizational models

• Familiarity with ERP systems and how customer data flows into pricing, logistics, finance, and reporting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple teams

• Proven ability to build and implement governance processes in evolving commercial environments
