This role is responsible for supporting communication, client coordination, front desk operations, and administrative processes while ensuring individuals are treated with dignity, professionalism, and respect. The Community Receptionist plays a critical role in supporting Shelterhouse’s mission by helping connect clients to services and maintaining efficient daily operations. This position supports Shelterhouse’s values through: Service: Supporting employees so they can serve others Compassion: Treating all individuals with dignity and respect Results: Executing with accuracy, consistency, and accountability Essential Job Duties Greet all visitors, residents, and community members in a warm, respectful, and professional manner Answer and relay incoming and interoffice and outgoing calls promptly and accurately Assist clients in programs including Community Resources, Shelterhouse Assessments/ Programs, Orientation, and intakes by helping connect them to resources and appropriate staff Schedule appointments for clients with Case Managers upon request Provide timely and professional communication to clients, staff, and external partners Assist Shelterhouse leadership and staff with operational and administrative support as needed Manage front desk operations and multi-line phone systems efficiently Maintain and manage client queues within VESTA Run reports in VESTA as requested Update daily calendars for clients and staff Post daily activities and updates to client boards, and internal network Accept, sort, and distribute mail and packages as needed This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
