After School Site Supervisor

Location: Clifton Area Neighborhood Schools

$22 - $24/hr depending on experience

10 Month role (follows a school year schedule) with a chance to work in our Summer camp as a Camp Counselor!

Job Summary

The After School Site Supervisor is responsible for the development and daily operations of school-based after-school programming that meets child care best practices and licensing standards. This role oversees a team of staff, provides direct supervision and engagement with children, and ensures a safe, responsive environment. Key responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, managing enrollment and client progress, maintaining compliance with Ohio licensing and Step Up to Quality standards, and fostering positive relationships with families, school personnel, and community partners. The Site Lead also handles administrative tasks such as data management, tuition collection, and program reporting while supporting staff development and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Direct Service

  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly after-school programming aligned with child development and state standards.
  • Provide direct supervision and engagement with children, ensuring safety and promoting social-emotional and academic growth.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and emergency situations, including communication with families and emergency personnel.
  • Maintain a responsive, trauma-informed environment and ensure compliance with licensing and quality standards.

Administration & Compliance

  • Serve as the childcare administrator on the license and ensure adherence to Ohio Department of Children and Youth regulations and Step Up to Quality standards.
  • Oversee enrollment, registration, and accurate completion of child and family documentation.
  • Manage program data systems, tuition collection, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate activity calendars, lesson plans, field trips, and special events.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of program areas.

Collaboration & Family Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with families and address concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with school staff, agency programs, and community partners to support children’s needs.
  • Represent the agency in school and community settings and participate in outreach activities.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Provide formal and informal supervision to school-age group leads, including quarterly shadowing and documentation.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff; monitor required training and credentialing.
  • Support staff in daily practice and professional development, modeling best practices and communication techniques.

Work Environment: Exposed to a combination of office, school and mental health treatment environments.   Exposed to children with behavior problems.  May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive.   May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.
