Job DetailsJob Location: CINCINNATI, OH 45229Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: NoneJob Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesPosition Overview: Building Futures Southwestern Ohio is a new 12-week pre-apprenticeship program that provides participants with the skills and trade-specific instruction to enter an apprenticeship and pursue a career in the construction industry, launching at Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. Modeled after the award-winning program in Franklin County, Ohio, the program lays the foundation for building a career in the skilled trades, such as electricians, ironworkers, painters, plumbers, pipefitters, and sheet metal workers. Building Futures graduates are offered direct entry into many apprenticeships in the previously mentioned skilled trades. Once accepted into an apprenticeship opportunity, participants complete on-the-job training and classroom education and enjoy competitive wages and benefits, including medical insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits. This program will serve as a pipeline to critical hard-to-fill roles in the construction industry while creating true economic mobility for people struggling with intergenerational poverty.  What you’ll do: Provide barrier removal assistance, including but not limited to transportation, childcare, and housing support, to ensure participants can fully engage in the apprenticeship readiness program. Collaborate with community resources and partner agencies to coordinate and refer participants to supportive services. Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and electronic participant files, ensuring all required documentation, progress notes, and data are properly recorded. Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing case management to address any emerging challenges or barriers. Conduct regular follow-up with participants to support their successful completion of the apprenticeship readiness program. Collaborate with program staff to facilitate effective program delivery, including organizing and participating in workshops, training sessions, and career development activities. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance case management skills and stay updated on relevant resources and best practices. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in accordance with program guidelines and regulations. This role requires occasional travel to other sites. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsWhat you’ll need: Minimum of two years of experience in program coordination, preferably in workforce development or apprenticeship programs. Preferred experience in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.  Strong knowledge and experience in barrier removal strategies, including assessing and utilizing supportive services and community resources. Display a high level of professionalism and impeccable integrity and confidentiality. Ability to work early evenings / flexible schedule. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with participants and effectively collaborate with community partners. Strong facilitation with the ability to lead discussions, trainings, and collaborative sessions effectively. Proven ability to conduct thorough intake assessments, develop individualized service plans, and provide ongoing comprehensive case management. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, maintaining accurate physical and electronic participant records. Familiarity with data management systems. An empathetic and culturally sensitive approach Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of quality. Ability to interact with internal and external customers. Valid Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance. Favorable background check. Ability to interact with internal and external customers. Proficient in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Forms   Working environment: This is a full-time, in-person position located at 3458 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. This position requires regular sitting or standing for long periods at a computer; frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and crouching while working at a desk; filing and record handling; regular use of both hands/arms in reaching, handling, grasping, and keyboarding while using a variety of office equipment; frequent use of a telephone and computer to communicate with coworkers and the public; regular standing to use a variety of office equipment; occasionally will lift and carry items up to 30 pounds; regularly communicate in oral and written form with coworkers and with the general public, constant reading, and interpretation of documents.  Salary information: The estimated salary range for this position is $43,888- $45,000 per year. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
