Position Overview
The Client Support Specialist within the Client Support Services (CSS) department plays a vital role in keeping client businesses running smoothly — delivering accurate, timely support across bookkeeping, payroll processing, and tax transaction management. This role partners closely with clients to understand their unique business needs, helping them stay compliant with financial regulations and never miss a deadline. We're looking for someone who's detail-oriented, client-focused, and brings strong technical skills to every interaction — someone who thrives on solving problems and making clients' financial lives easier.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping:
- Process and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivableÂ
- Prepare and deliver financial statements to clients
- Review fixed asset listing to properly allocate depreciation expense
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform monthly and year end closingsÂ
- Train clients on QuickBooks and share bookkeeping best practices as needed
Client Communication and Support:
- Act as primary point of contact for assigned client accounts
- Answer client inquiries related to financial transactions, payroll issues, and compliance requirements
- Protect confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive client data
- Support cross-departmental collaboration by relaying relevant client information between CSS, Income Tax, and Wealth Management teams to ensure continuity of service.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for designated collaborative projects, monitoring progress and proactively addressing gaps or delays.
Payroll
- Set up and maintain payroll files in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Add employees in Gusto or QuickBooks as appropriate
- Administer payroll runs to ensure all employees are paid timely and accurately
- Complete payroll quarterly tax returns and payments, as applicable
- Advise and train clients on payroll best practices
- Apply for federal and state ID’s, as necessary
 Tax Support
- File sales tax returns and restaurant tax, when applicable
- Prepare annual 1099’s and personal property returns

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
- Professional certification in bookkeeping or payroll including QBO ProAdvisor preferred
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or tax processing
- Proficiency in accounting software (ex. QuickBooks, Gusto)
- Understand payroll regulations and basic tax principles
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet tight deadlines
- Experience working in a client service or public accounting environment preferred
