We’re hiring a CNC Programmer to develop, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for 4-axis milling and large, complex VTL turning. This role is hands-on and shop-focused—success here is about strong machining fundamentals across multiple axes, smart tooling strategy, and tight collaboration with operators.
You’ll program from prints, sketches, and SolidWorks models, working with Mastercam or NX and Fanuc controls. Aerospace experience is preferred, and you must be comfortable machining hard alloys (stainless, Inconel, similar).
What You’ll Do
Create CNC programs for milling and/or turning (VTL) from blueprints, sketches, and 3D models
Use CAM software (Mastercam or NX) to generate toolpaths and programs
Review post-processed code to ensure accuracy and correct output for the specific machine/control
Partner with operators for program prove-out, cycle time improvements, and continuous optimization
Troubleshoot machining/process issues with Engineering and Plant Leadership
Select proper cutting tools and machining strategies for the material/application
Support process planning: identify risks/issues and help implement efficient, repeatable methods
Design/develop or specify workholding/fixturing (independently or with Engineering)
Required Qualifications
5+ years CNC programming experience using Mastercam or NX
Strong programming background for 4-axis machining (5-axis is a plus, not required)
Experience with Fanuc controls
Experience machining hard alloys (e.g., stainless, Inconel, similar high-performance materials)
Solid understanding of:
Machining fundamentals (feeds/speeds, tool selection, workholding)
GD&T
Precision measurement tools
Microsoft Office basics
Ability to read and interpret prints and models confidently
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace/Defense machining background
Large complex VTL programming experience
SolidWorks familiarity (model review / basic edits)
