Fameccanica North America is looking for a Fabricated Project Buyer with hands-on experience sourcing custom fabricated components in a technical, project-based manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the fabrication process, can comfortably read engineering drawings and written specifications, and enjoys working closely with engineering and suppliers to support complex builds, not just placing purchase orders.

  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to review drawings, specs, and material requirements
  • Issue and manage purchase orders and changes while ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Support supplier selection, qualification, and performance improvement efforts
  • Track supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery
  • Resolve supplier issues and claims in a timely, professional manner
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system (SAP preferred)
  • Coordinate supplier visits and support sourcing-related travel (up to 15%)

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience purchasing fabricated or custom-built components (machined, welded, sheet metal, assemblies, or similar)
  • Background in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting engineering drawings and written specifications
  • Experience sourcing technical or industrial materials
  • Strong ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once
  • Clear communication skills with both engineering teams and suppliers

Why You’ll Like This Role

  • Strong collaboration between departments.
  • Project-based buying with technical involvement
