Uptown Rental Properties is looking for an experienced Lead Projects Technician who combines strong technical skills with sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to help others succeed.

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows building maintenance, can troubleshoot complex issues, and takes pride in finding the right solution, not just the quickest fix.

  • Take the lead on more complex, escalated, or difficult service issues
  • Help prioritize maintenance needs and keep projects moving
  • Serve as a technical resource and sounding board for other maintenance technicians
  • Support and guide less-experienced team members when they need help troubleshooting an issue
  • Conduct property visits and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger problems
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized outside support is needed
  • Help ensure work orders, purchases, receipts, labor hours, and maintenance documentation stay accurate and organized
  • Communicate professionally with residents, property teams, vendors, and coworkers
  • Participate in a scheduled after-hours on-call rotation

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have strong hands-on experience in property maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related skilled trades
  • Are confident troubleshooting problems independently and know when additional expertise is needed
  • Have broad knowledge of building systems and repairs
  • Can manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution
  • Take pride in quality workmanship and doing the job right the first time
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, coworkers, managers, and vendors
  • Are dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Enjoy helping other technicians work through problems and build their skills
  • Are comfortable stepping up and taking the lead when the situation calls for it

Pay & Perks

  • $28-32/hour, based on experience, technical ability, and level of responsibility
  • Monday - Friday Schedule
  • On-call bonus pay
  • Paid training and career growth opportunities
