Job Summary: 

Stratus is Growing! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to join our team supporting the Transportation Market. This role involves assisting with mechanical and process design of fuel-related storage and delivery system projects. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in mechanical and process engineering principles with a core focus in fuel storage and fuel systems with a desire to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Primary Essential Functions: 

  • Perform mechanical design and layout of pumping systems, storage tanks, and related equipment. Which includes pump calculations, hydraulics, piping systems, etc.
  • Support field visits to gather data and as-built information to assist engineering design and planning efforts
  • Prepare and update technical drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D
  • Collaborate with senior engineers from several disciplines and project managers to develop project plans and specifications
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, reports, and communication logs
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project) to create reports, schedules, and presentations
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable State, Federal, industry standards and client requirements

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • PE is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D. Experience with BIM is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Project
  • Ability to travel, visit airports, and pass a SIDA badge background check and maintain SIDA clearance.
  • Engineering experience working on aviation fueling systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of FAA, ATA regulations are a plus

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers
  • Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication
