POSITION SUMMARY: (WHAT, HOW, WHY)
The Merchandise Processor-Production plays a critical role in supporting Goodwill’s mission by efficiently processing donated goods into high-quality, sale-ready merchandise. This position works in a fast-paced environment to sort, price, and prepare merchandise for the sale in the retail stores in a manner that drives revenue, supports sustainability goals, and delivers exceptional customer and donor experience.

Merchandise Processors are brand ambassadors who represent Goodwill’s values through professional conduct, teamwork, and consistent attention to quality, safety, and customer service. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet productivity, quality, and accuracy standards 
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic comfort using technology and tools related to production operations
  • Ability to solve problems in collaboration with team members
  • Commitment to providing legendary customer service through friendly, respectful, and engaging interactions with all internal and external stakeholders


Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds routinely, with occasional heavier loads using proper equipment or assistance
  • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Frequent exposure to airborne particles while performing job duties


Key Responsibilities

  • Sort, process, and price soft-line and hardline merchandise for the sale in the stores in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Accurately record and track processed goods using established tools and systems
  • Maintain a pace at which one is able to meet daily quota for pieces processed
  • Comply with safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the manager on duty (report must be made at time of incident)
  • Adhere to work schedule set by supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • Maintain a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards.
  • Demonstrate legendary service by supporting internal operations and team members with a positive, cooperative, and solutions‑focused attitude
  • Protect and promote the Goodwill brand by modeling professionalism, safety, and positive behavior while working on the premises and representing the organization while on duty or on any Goodwill property
  • Key to note, the role will not allow use of headphones or personal cell phone during shift due to safety concerns
  • Complete other duties as assigned

  • Primary Environment: warehouse environment
  • Moderate noise levels typical of a warehouse environment
  • Exposure to donated goods and varying temperatures
  • Lifting/Pushing/Pulling up to 50 lbs
