FA – Maintenance Electrician


Job Purpose

Maintains production reliability and product quality by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize work by reviewing work orders and gathering required tools and materials

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems including robots, conveyors, PLCs, transformers, voltage regulators, and production machinery

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

  • Install new equipment including power supply wiring and conduit between machinery

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical systems (motors, transformers, lighting, control systems)

  • Replace and repair components such as relays, switches, motors, printed circuit boards, and sensors

  • Program and test automated equipment including robots and programmable logic controllers

  • Support production uptime by coordinating preventive maintenance efforts

  • Maintain inventory levels of electrical parts and supplies

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements

  • Contribute to team objectives and support plant reliability initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in industrial electrical maintenance

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Experience with PLCs, automated systems, and electrical control panels

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using power tools

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed (over 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week)

  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test

  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail

Work Environment

  • Active chemical manufacturing facility

  • Required use of PPE

  • Exposure to production equipment, noise, and industrial conditions

Additional Requirements

  • Technicians participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
