Position Title: Quality Control Chemist

Position Summary
The Quality Control Chemist is responsible for performing chemical, physical, and performance testing to support 24/7 chemical manufacturing operations. This role ensures that raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet established quality standards. The position requires strong laboratory technical skills, adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, and effective collaboration with manufacturing teams to resolve quality-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical, physical, and performance testing according to established laboratory procedures and company policies.
- Analyze raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product samples to verify product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Accurately record laboratory data and maintain documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Perform equipment calibrations and routine laboratory maintenance.
- Enter test results and maintain records within laboratory systems and databases.
- Identify product or process non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, environmental, and safety performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel regarding quality-related issues and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, GMP, ISO, and housekeeping procedures.
Education and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field (0 years of experience required), or
- Associate Degree in Chemistry or Applied Science with a minimum of 2 years of Quality Control laboratory experience, or
- Two-year chemistry-related program or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of QC laboratory experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of standard laboratory testing methods and analytical instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret data and provide accurate analysis of laboratory results.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy and experience with laboratory data systems.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Results-oriented and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with production and manufacturing personnel.
Work Schedule
This position operates on a fixed 12-hour shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Training and qualifications will occur during the first 60 days, typically on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule (40 hours per week).
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
