Position Summary

Trillium Foods is seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to join our Cincinnati team!

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing sanitation activities throughout the facility to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company policies.

This role provides direct leadership to the sanitation team and ensures that production equipment, processing areas, warehouse spaces, and facility support areas are effectively cleaned and sanitized to prevent contamination and maintain a safe operating environment.

The Sanitation Supervisor will work closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Food Safety to support continuous improvement, audit readiness, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily sanitation operations throughout the facility.
• Ensure completion of sanitation activities in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Train, coach, and lead sanitation employees on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, PPE, GMPs, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SSOP, SQF, FDA, and applicable food safety requirements.
• Review ATP, environmental monitoring, and microbiological swab results to verify sanitation effectiveness.
• Maintain sanitation records, chemical usage logs, reports, and verification/validation documentation.
• Manage sanitation chemical and supply inventory.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to sanitation non-conformances.
• Partner with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Plant Leadership to resolve sanitation-related issues.
• Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
• Promote a culture of food safety, employee safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate sanitation performance, concerns, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
• 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, sanitation practices, and food safety requirements.
• Familiarity with SQF and third-party audit standards.
• Ability to read and interpret sanitation procedures, chemical labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
