Primary Duties

  • Select and load proper raw materials and unload completed part as required
  • Make scratch and center punch layouts from templates and patterns.
  • Set up and operate shears, press brakes, roll formers, nibblers, drills, punches, etc. to cut, trim, form, and shape parts
  • Assemble and fit parts and details using hand tools, jigs, welders, soldering equipment and riveters
  • Check work for dimensions and configuration
  • Assemble frames to be welded, grinded, and finished to create a whole frame from components.

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work from job layouts, patterns, templates, bills of material and production orders
  • Ability to use tools including but not limited to: scale, square, dividers, straight edge, and fixed gauges
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to communicate well with others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use welder, grinder, and sanders
  • Ability to read and create Elevations from blueprints.

Work Environment

  • Continuous or near continuous exposure to noise levels >80 db
  • Frequent exposure to temperature extremes, vibration, mechanical hazards, material handling equipment (forklifts), and moving objects
  • Occasional exposure to: humid/arid conditions, fumes, dust, mists, gases, allergens, and insect bites

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to speak and hear clearly
  • Must be able to see well including depth perception and the ability to distinguish between colors
  • Requires continuous or near continuous standing and balancing
  • Requires frequent (4 or more hours per day): stooping
  • Occasional walking, sitting, lifting (max 50 lbs), carrying (25-50 lbs), climbing, pushing & pulling heavy carts, kneeling, twisting, and reaching (overhead and to the side) may be required

Expected Hours of Work

8 hour shifts M-F with weekend and daily overtime hours as required for production
