As the Programs Supervisor at the Findlay Recreation Center, you will play a key role in creating engaging recreational, wellness, and community-based programs that enrich the lives of individuals and families throughout the Over-the-Rhine area. In this leadership position, you'll oversee the planning, coordination, and daily operations of a variety of programs and activities while supporting staff, managing schedules, and ensuring an exceptional participant experience. Minimum Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health and Fitness or related field. (Required) 
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree (Preferred)
  • 1 - 2  years of experience in recreation programming, community programs, youth/family programs, events, camps, health promotion, wellness, or related service delivery. (Required) 
  • Up to 1 year of experience in a lead, coordinator, supervisor, instructor, or volunteer management role. (Required) 
  • 3 - 4 years of experience developing and managing programs in a community center, recreation, nonprofit, healthcare, education, or municipal setting. (Preferred)
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, organization, computer, registration, scheduling, and project coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and program registration tools.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required  May be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Other Certified Park and Recreation Professional, youth development, group facilitation, health education, wellness coaching, or event management certification.



Job Overview:

 

This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating recreation, wellness, enrichment, youth/family, senior, community education, special event, and community partnership programs at the community center. The incumbent leads assigned program staff and volunteers, develops program plans and schedules, supports community engagement and revenue goals, maintains safe and inclusive program delivery, and provides Manager on Duty coverage on a rotational basis.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Works as part of the community center or site's leadership team, attends and contributes to required meetings, and models professionalism. 
  • Provides Manager on Duty coverage and performs all associated leadership, service recovery, safety, and facility oversight responsibilities. 
  • Develops the annual program plan, calendar, staffing model, budget inputs, and program evaluation approach.
  • Oversees program staff, instructors, seasonal team members, and volunteers including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluation, and coaching.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and events that advance wellness, community connection, access, and participant satisfaction.
  • Builds productive relationships with community partners, vendors, schools, neighborhood organizations, and TriHealth departments.
  • Provides direct program facilitation, event support, participant communication, or instructor coverage as appropriate.
