Job Opportunity: Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with Fameccanica in West Chester, OH

 

Are you driven to improve supplier performance and strengthen a global supply chain? We’re seeking a proactive Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure our suppliers consistently deliver high‑quality materials and components. You’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to improve capability, resolve issues, and support operational excellence.

 

This role involves frequent travel (up to 2 weeks per month) to supplier sites and regular collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality excellence across the supply chain.

 

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) who is essential for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of materials and components throughout our operations. In this position, you will work collaboratively with both suppliers and internal teams to uphold high-quality standards, address problems, and promote ongoing improvements within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier visits and perform quality and capacity audits using OEE, saturation, lead time (LT), and on‑time delivery (OTD).
  • Support supplier qualification and assess technical capabilities and readiness.
  • Manage non‑conformities and lead corrective and preventive action processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through RCA, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and other methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with APQP, FAI, CQC, and customer/regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and develop improvement plans.
  • Conduct audits aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report performance updates.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of supplier quality experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong background in machining, metal fabrication, structural frames, and welding.
  • Proficiency with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, PDCA, APQP/FAI/CQC.
  • Experience with WCM, Lean Six Sigma, and capacity audits.
  • Ability to lead audits independently and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to travel frequently domestically and internationally
