Overview

Handles various projects, which could include analytical analysis, operations, marketing, client service, compliance, business development, investment research and/or operational/database management-related matters. Has access to Western & Southern Financial Group (W&SFG) senior management. Generates and delivers a "final" PowerPoint presentation to senior management at the end of the internship period.

Responsibilities

What you will do:
  • Projects: • Contact Management System - CRM Clean-Up: • Representative harvesting - CRD Information, Phone #, Email Address. • Representative merging. • Impact: Data integrity is an important part of W&SFGD, as it supports our campaign functionality, servicing and prospecting financial advisors to continue to grow our business.
  • Rep Assignments - Campaign & Tracking: • Impact: Placing representatives into specific groups based on portfolios purchased, post W&SFGD sponsored events and other activities allows us to campaign to those groups in a very specific way through email, phone calls and approach to gather meetings. On the other side, this allows us to track progress by the sales persons on contacts, meetings and other activities.
  • Impact Wholesaling: • Impact: Looking at the efficiencies and inefficiencies of a wholesaling team on engagement with a set of financial advisors before a large set of trades are made. Finding trends by an external wholesaler and internal wholesaler on their activity, activity counts, types of activities and how often. • New Contact Management System (CRM) Impact: A part of the testing team for CRM enhancements to check for bugs and errors. This is typically a week-long testing period in which 2-3 hours are logged each day doing numerous activities in the CRM.
  • Channel Projects: • Impact: Looking at competitive data, administration system assignments/clean-up and updating spreadsheets for internal use only.
  • Learning Initiatives: • Product training. • Proper profiling of advisors and positioning of products and services. • Shadowing internal wholesaler. • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Entering senior year of bachelor's degree. - Preferred
  • Experience in use of word processing, spreadsheet, query and reporting tools such as Microsoft Access and/or Crystal Reports. - Required
  • Proven strong organizational skills. -
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel. -
  • Proven ability to work independently and a self starter. -
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple deadlines and prioritize projects. -
Work Setting/Position Demands:
  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
