The Division of Neurology seeks an Assistant Professor with an interest in treating patients for general neurology needs in the Vinaya Rett Syndrome and Related Spectrum Disorders Clinic and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center:

The Vinaya Rett Syndrome and Related Spectrum Disorders Clinic provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children and adults. Our specialists work collaboratively to diagnose and manage patients’ complex neurological and medical needs, with the goal of enhancing quality of life for them and their families.

We provide evaluation and treatment for all variations of Rett syndrome and related spectrum disorders, including:

  • Typical and Atypical Rett syndrome

  • Rett-related disorders

    • MECP2-related disorders

    • Males with MECP2 variants/Male Rett spectrum disorders

    • CDKL5 developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (CDKL5-DEE) / CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder

    • FOXG1 Syndrome

  • MECP2 Duplication Syndrome

The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center helps children with seizures enjoy the best quality of life possible. This means treating their seizures, minimizing medication side effects, addressing emotional and developmental concerns, and helping families better understand their child’s condition.  We are accredited as a Level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. It’s a distinction held only by hospitals qualified to treat the most complex seizure disorders. As one of the largest pediatric epilepsy centers in the U.S., thousands of children and adolescents rely on our team each year.

Our neurology team includes some of the nation’s most respected physicians and researchers, whose breakthrough findings are regularly published in leading journals and whose treatments have set the standard for neurologic practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD, with board certification in Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology

  • Rank of Assistant Professor

  • Participate in an active research program relevant to neurology

  • Experience in a complex, integrated academic medical setting

  • Commitment to alignment with Cincinnati Children’s culture and beliefs

  • Ability to develop a vision, with a track record for successfully implementing new initiatives that advance the field of neurology

  • As CCHMC continues to grow its regional, national, and international presence, clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside of the Burnet Campus.
