The Role:

You will manage the assigned shift packaging operations and personnel. Coordinate production/schedule requirements with Team Leader, Making. Insure compliance with all OSHA regulations, FDA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Meet quality production requirements in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Reporting to the Senior Packaging Manager you will develop an effective Packaging staff and organization identifying solutions for future production requirements on assigned shift.

This is a 2nd shift role 2:00pm - 11:00pm

What you will do:

  • Insure the safe, efficient and effective utilization of packaging personnel, equipment and financial resources.
  • Insure compliance with all FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Evaluate current operations and provide suggestions for continuous improvement to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate, coach, and mentor assigned shift packaging staff.
  • Identify, write and obtain approval for all required departmental Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions. Audit and update current SOP's and WI's as required by Company policy.
  • Complete and maintain 100% compliance with all training requirements for assigned shift packaging team.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • Engineering or Business Management Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience/training.
  • 2+ years Manufacturing environment preferably in packaging environment.
  • 2+ years Personnel Administration.
  • 1+ years Packaging or Project Engineer (preferred).
  • Strong Leadership and Decision Making Skills.
  • Working Knowledge of Performance Metrics.
  • Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in using a computer.
  • SAP experience.
  • Ability to climb, bend and crouch.
  • Good Team Work skills, attention to detail, strict adherence to all trained procedures and embrace Safety and Quality awareness.
  • Flexibility to work different shift or hours.
