Scope of Job: This position is responsible for supervising staff that performs maintenance repairs to the complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Implements standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Coordinates resources for troubleshooting equipment repairs. Reviews and supports equipment failure analysis and troubleshooting resolutions. Trains, coaches, and educates workers in best practices and safety procedures. Monitors work orders to ensure accuracy and quality of repairs. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional operations area under supervision.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and coordinates the purchasing of materials, supplies or equipment required by the company.
  • Monitors suppliers/subcontractors to assure compliance to agreements/orders. This may include trips to the supplier to verify production methods or quality standards.
  • Assures compliance with Government purchasing requirements/regulations and may serve as a liaison with Government agencies conducting audits.
  • Supervises the buyers to assure that company policies are followed, and overall needs of the Company are met.
  • Negotiates various terms of purchase order, purchase agreement or subcontract including but not limited to component price, product improvements, payment terms, lead time commitments, and additional stock to be held at supplier’s facilities.
  • Monitors component prices submitted bi-weekly to Government for accuracy.
  • Coordinates any product changes through appropriate departments in Company to assure the Government will accept the change, that it will fit the module, that the product will withstand the rough handling in the field. 
  • Issues reports as required to Company Management regarding purchasing activities.
  • Locates and develops new suppliers to reduce overall component prices or to implement new items that our customer requests.
  • Coordinates resolution of any quality issues with purchased materials and obtains proper credits and disposition of materials.
  • Monitors the acquisition of materials from socioeconomic disadvantaged firms by preparing goals annually and attempting to increase our purchase from these firms.
  • Gathers required bid information and prepares written documentation as required to respond to solicitations.
  • Monitors commodity pricing of various raw materials that we purchase and recommends buying extra inventory when markets are depressed.
  • Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Education: Associate degree or equivalent college or technical school in specialty field required.

Experience: 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with graphics related programs preferred. Must demonstrate understanding of manufacturing operations, prioritization, and supervisory skills.
