Basic Function 

Performs diversified and specialized statistical, clerical, or semi-technical duties associated with inventory control of finished goods. General shift supervisory oversight of employees within the Distribution department.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates cycle-counting of finished goods and inventory and related reporting. 
  • Coordinates recounts and reconciliation. It may require using a forklift or reach truck/cherry picker.
  • Audits all inventory transactions, including production and purchase receipts, relief of inventory shipped, inventory adjustments, and inventory assignment updates.
  • Coordinates receipts and put-away of finished goods, such as containers, service parts, manufactured goods, returned goods, etc.
  • Coordinates picked order auditing process reporting and documentation.
  • Investigate and report causes of inventory transfer variances. Review and reconcile daily and weekly inventory transfer reports. 
  • Coordinates and reports all discrepancy information and analyzes the impact on finished goods inventory.
  • Provide directions to subordinates regarding quality parameters and maintain quality through coaching, counseling, and discipline.
  • Ensure employees have the proper training, safety equipment, and tools to perform their roles safely. If an accident occurs, follow the proper protocol. 
  • Ensures employees adhere to the PPE policy and have the proper safety knowledge to complete their tasks.
  • If an accident occurs, follow incident reporting. 
  • Helps the department remain on task and that production goals are met.
  • Monitor attendance and accurately report absences, tardies, or leaving early. 
  • Ensure adherence to company, operational, and departmental procedures, requirements, and absolutes. 
  • Provide direction to subordinates regarding quality parameters and maintain quality through coaching, counseling, and discipline.
  • Work with carriers through phone and email to ensure freight is picked up daily and on time.
  • Follows training schedule and train new department employees.
  • Provide employee feedback when and where needed and communicate enhanced employee training opportunities to the distribution manager. 
  • Delegate authority and responsibility to the lowest level possible, encouraging the growth and development of employees.
  • Is the point of contact for the department when the department manager is unavailable.
  • Has a working knowledge of the company’s policies and knows points of contact if/when issues arise.
  • Manages conflict if it arises to create a productive team.
  • Ensure employees are informed of key business issues and their responsibilities to support them. Encourage employees to ask questions and provide input.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications: 

  • An associate degree in business in a related area is desirable. 
  • Experience developing spreadsheets, charts, and graphs.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the department is preferred. 
  • A high School Degree/GED is preferred.
  • Preferred to have supervisory or management experience within a distribution department or related operation 
  • Past job performance must have demonstrated a high degree of planning and organizing skills, human relations skills, and leadership ability.


Requirements: 

  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Includes the ability to communicate at different levels within the organization.
  • 100 % of the time, must be able to bend, carry, lift, push, pull, reach, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, and lift +/- 75 lbs. 
  • Must be able to walk throughout SENCO’s manufacturing campus, up to 530,000 square feet. 
  • Must be able to work off shifts and/or overtime when assigned, sometimes on short notice.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities 
  • Accurate record keeping. 
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use calculator, personal computer, and related corporate software. Above average skills with Microsoft Excel, basic skills in Word and Access.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Includes the ability to communicate at different levels within the organization.
