Main responsibilities:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be ensuring the operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment and completing preventative maintenance. You prioritize the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the company.Â
The Maintenance Engineer is self-motivated and works with a sense of urgency. You work closely with operators and site teams to increase uptime, which helps keep food moving quickly to our stores and communities. If you’re ready to make a difference, let’s talk!Â
As a part of a Union environment, our team is looking for an individual that can be flexible during their probationary period. Specifically, with scheduling, you may be asked to work nights, weekends, or holidays, with appropriate notice. You may be asked to function within multiple areas of the plant. Here is a list of most of the responsibilities that may be asked of you:Â
- Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practicesÂ
- Changeover, repair and troubleshoot all plant production equipment Â
- Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsÂ
- Able to understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedulesÂ
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is neededÂ
- Responsive to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports as requiredÂ
- Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiencyÂ
- Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as requiredÂ
- Ensure spare parts or services are ordered as requiredÂ
- Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)Â
- Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficientlyÂ
- Maintain organization of spare partsÂ
- Maintain a clean and organized work areaÂ
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisorÂ
- Complete special projects and duties as assignedÂ
- Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipmentÂ
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessaryÂ
- Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace necessary partsÂ
- Rebuild/ fabrication of equipmentÂ
- Welding mild and stainless steelÂ
- Complete work ordersÂ
- Maintain logs and recordsÂ
- Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failuresÂ
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operationÂ
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requestsÂ
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the roleÂ

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- You are 18 years of age or olderÂ
- You enjoy working as a part of a larger team to make an impactÂ
- Ensuring a safe work environment is a priority to youÂ
- You take pride in the work you do, with every detail, whether big or smallÂ
- You must be able to lift to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequentlyÂ
- Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance are requiredÂ
- Being a part of your community mattersÂ
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:Â
- High School Degree or equivalentÂ
- 2+ years in a manufacturing/production environmentÂ
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair requiredÂ
- You have knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics and/or pneumaticsÂ
- You have ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprintsÂ
- LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferredÂ
