Overview

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is excited to begin the search for a TES 4H Agent Assistant.  The Agent Assistant will be responsible for assisting 4-H Agent with in-school clubs.

The primary focus of this position will be conducting 4-H programming in the Chilton County Schools.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
    • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
    • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
    • Assistance with special projects
    • Seasonal work
    • Emergencies

Responsibilities

  • The Agent Assistant will also assist in preparing curriculum, implementing youth activities, and entering enrollment data.
  • Must have good organizational and basic technology skills.
  • Will assist and/or work with the County Extension Director and 4-H Extension Agent in activities that benefit the youth of the county.
  • May also do office work as needed, such as answer phones, make copies, and assist office visitors.

The majority of the work for this position will be done in the classroom(s) of schools located throughout Chilton County.
 
Some nights/weekend work will be required.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 4 years of experience in the organization and/or presentation of pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience. 
    • Must be reliable, able to interact with youth, and speak Spanish.
    • 19 years or older
Scope of Experience: Experience in clerical or administrative support services.
 
Substitution allowed for Experience:
  • Degrees may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Minimum Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
