Job Summary
The materials handler position will be responsible for the flow of materials and supplies within our manufacturing facility and inventory warehouse.Â
Job Responsibilities:
- Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming deliveries.
- Keep a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
- Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply
- Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged goods
- Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering and staging production materials and supplies where needed.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Perform material transactions within our ERP system as needed
- Perform monthly cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory
- Assist teams in quarterly inventory of materials within the plant
- Put materials into designated location within materials warehouse
Knowledge:
- Production and Processing-Â Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
- Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology. Â

- Coordination- Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions
- Critical Thinking-Â Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

- Complex Problem Solving-Â Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Education/Experience (Measurable):
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of materials handling in a warehouse preferred
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience with material transactions in an ERP system preferredÂ
- Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
