SUMMARY

Sell and cash horse racing wagers in strict accordance with racing regulations and company policies and procedures. Print programs and provide exceptional customer service to mutuel guests. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Sells and cashes Mutuel tickets.
  • Cashes IRS Mutuel tickets, completes W-2G information and validates and follows the process for NeWave or other tracking system.
  • Prepares the simulcast rooms for daily activities including setting the decoders to the proper channels.
  • Prints simulcast and live programs.
  • Sales simulcast programs and racing forms using a point-of-sale system.
  • Provides customer service to simulcast guests.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge in the operation of totalizer equipment.
  • Knowledge of common betting types and exotic betting types.
  • Working knowledge in the operation of copier equipment.
  • Working knowledge in the operation of basic office equipment,
  • Working knowledge of the use of Excel, Word and Outlook. 
  • Knowledge of Title 31 tracking systems.
  • Must have had or can obtain training specifically on Title 31 and Title 26.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is normally performed in an interior office environment but may be exposed to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.  This position requires frequent standing, walking and lifting.  Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
