JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

Strategic and tactical work for which this position is accountable:

It is the responsibility of the Pellet Mill Attendant l to become familiar with Kreher’s pre-established compost and fertilizer production procedures and guidelines, while working in a supervised manner, to:

  • Provide a quality product to the customer by efficiently performing and overseeing various functions related to preparing fertilizer for sale.
  • Ensure that orders are filled, delivery dates are met, and inventory is monitored within the pellet mill department.
  • Respond with a sense of urgency to all customer concerns with products and/or services provided.
  • Maintain all supplies and equipment for Pellet Mill areas.
  • Operate skid steer.
  • Look for opportunities to eliminate re-work, waste, etc., and inform manager.
  • Meet or exceed standards in the tasks performed for the department without sacrificing quality or personal safety, and encourage team members to do the same.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents, and encourage team mates to do the same.
  • Work effectively with other areas of the farm.
  • Assist in bagging as required.
  • Maintain clean breakroom.
  • Look for safety hazards or opportunities for improvement, and communicate with manager.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Capabilities and traits essential to perform satisfactorily

  • A strong aptitude for operating equipment is required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to perform job duties independently.
  • Works well as a member of a team.
  • Class A driver’s license is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

This position is mobile in nature requiring moderate to high energy levels and occasional physical exertion. There is exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, temperature changes, agricultural noise, dust, odors, and hazards usually accompanied by visits to agricultural facilities.
