About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative RD&A Scientist to join our Beverage team. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing beverage formulations across a wide range of formats, including sparkling, still, juice, protein, and functional beverages. The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability, exceptional sensory acuity, and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams to drive product innovation and deliver winning customer solutions.

Key responsibilities

Develop and prepare beverage formulations, syrups, and concentrates at both lab and pilot‑plant scale.
Test, refine, and optimize formulations to meet targeted taste profiles, functionality, and regulatory standards.
Customize beverage ingredients independently or in collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
Calculate calories, and understand the roles of sweeteners, acids, nutrients, and stabilizers in formulations.
Manage and coordinate sample shipments for internal and external stakeholders.
Support beverage development activities in alignment with GMP, safety, and quality standards.
Handle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines efficiently and accurately.Master formulation techniques for RTD (Ready‑to‑Drink) and RTM (Ready‑to‑Make) beverage formats.
Apply strong sensory skills to identify, discriminate, and define flavor profiles within tight project timelines.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of beverage processing techniques, ingredient interactions, and nutritional value calculations.
Clearly communicate formulation concepts and technical recommendations in customer-facing commercial settings.
Use mathematical skills to perform calculations involving dilutions, percentages, ratios, and ppm.
Exhibit self‑motivation, curiosity, and resourcefulness in solving complex technical challenges.

Qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related applied science.
Minimum 3 years of experience in beverage development and formulation.
Strong scientific, technical, and analytical aptitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is an advantage.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross‑functional team environment.
 
 

The pay range for this position is $70,100 - $122,000 in Annual Salary.  Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.  Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.  This job posting is anticipated to expire on May 30th, 2026.
