The Aircraft Mechanic 1 troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces MH60 functional systems including rigging flight controls, rotor systems, components, drive train, powerplant, plumbing and hydraulic units using hand tools, power tools, special tools, and test equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Works supporting the SOATB MH60 program at home station and while TDY.
  • The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • This worker will read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and conducts flight line support.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • 6+ years' experience in Army aviation.
  • Must have own toolbox/tools.
  • Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments.
  • Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
  • Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment/vehicles on the flight line and be a member of the aircraft towing team.
  • Experience using aircraft special tools and test sets.
  • Experience with MH-60 aircraft is desirable.
