The Budget Director is responsible for the preparation and submission of all University budgets to the APSU Board of Trustees, the Tennessee Board of Regents, and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Executes the budget planning process for each fiscal year. Processes budget revisions throughout the year. Provides training, ad-hoc reports, and analyses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the University approved position salary budgets.
  • Prepare the three financial budgets per year (original, revised, and estimated) and two personnel budgets (original and revised) to be approved by the APSU Board of Trustees, Tennessee Board of Regents, and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
  • Plan, communicate, and execute the annual fee proposal and budget request
  • Process revenue and expense budget revisions.
  • Provide budget analyses and projections to be used by University administration for
    critical resource allocation planning.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports, schedules, and analysis as requested.
  • Answer general budget questions and provide training to faculty and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong computing, organization, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance and budget management policies and procedures;

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in Budgeting, Planning, reporting, and/or analysis.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

 

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry,push, pull or otherwise move objects.
