Job Description - Kitchen Utility / Porter


The Kitchen Utility / Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and operational flow across

Dock 17, the Bowling Lounge, and Varsity Pins lanes during high-volume weekend service. This

role supports both front-of-house and back-of-house operations by running a continuous

cleanliness circuit, managing the dish pit, and ensuring guests experience a clean, well-

maintained environment at all times.


Core Responsibilities:

Dish Pit Operations:

• Maintain continuous dish flow during service — no backlog at any point

• Wash, sanitize, and return all plates, glassware, utensils, and bus tubs to their stations

• Keep dish area clean, organized, and free of standing water on the floor

Trash & Cleanliness Circuit (30-Minute Loop):

• Run a continuous circuit covering Dock 17 dining area, Bowling Lounge, and VP lanes

• Empty all trash cans before they reach capacity; replace liners immediately

• Wipe down common-area tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces between guest use

• Clean and restock restrooms on each circuit pass

• Sweep and spot-mop high-traffic areas as needed throughout shift

Facility Support:

• Break down and take out all trash, recycling, and cardboard at end of shift

• Assist with end-of-night deep cleaning tasks as directed by the shift lead

• Restock FOH supplies (napkins, condiments, to-go containers) as they run low

• Communicate any facility issues (spills, equipment problems, supply shortages) to shift lead immediately


Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for the duration of a shift

• Reliable transportation and availability for Friday/Saturday evening shifts

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• No prior experience required — willingness to work hard and take direction is what matters


Compensation & Classification

• $15.00 – $17.00/hr flat rate, paid biweekly through ADP

• Non-tipped position — not included in any tip pool or tip share arrangement

• Part-time, weekend schedule (potential to add shifts based on business needs)
