This is the fifth level in the fire series. Incumbents supervise a crew of two to four firefighters during daily activities and on emergency scenes. Responsibilities may include ensuring the maintenance of equipment and facilities; training firefighters; making tactical decisions during emergency and non-emergency incidents; scheduling firefighters; maintaining records; and preparing related reports.
