JOB TITLE: Production Local Master

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Production Local Master is responsible for support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production output. This position recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.   

 

RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving, and process improvement activities.  
  • Investigate production and process issues, providing technical support and training.  
  • Help create troubleshooting, countermeasures and preventative maintenance guidelines.  
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.  
  • Write and manage work instructions and One Point Lessons 
  • Plan for setups, adjustments and changeovers per the production schedule.  
  • Monitor the equipment and help maintain uptime. 
  • Plan and establish production schedules and sequences to meet production goals.  
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.  
  • Support the team in reducing scrap and keeping a 5s shop floor. 
  • Assist in developing plan for tooling readiness.  
  • Design training programs and technical guides for production and maintenance staff.  
  • Stay current with product specifications, quality and production processes.  
  • Operate production equipment when necessary. 
  • Prepare for OE audits and quality inspections 
  • Complete supportive tasks in the Manufacturing Team 
  • Able to wear all required PPE
  • Able to complete and pass all required medical examinations

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Exceptional Communication: Including active speaking/listening, reading/writing skills in accordance with standard business practices and decorum 
  • Critical Thinking/Troubleshooting: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems 
  • Details: Must have attention to details for all areas of work 
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, and the ability to learn other computer programs. 
  • Ethical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.   
  • Required to climb, balance, bend, squat, reach, grasp, and hand dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic hand tool and measuring devices along with operation of these hand tools and measuring devices required.  
  • Manufacturing experience required
