Job DetailsJob Location: Cannon AFB, NM 88103Salary Range: $32.14 - $32.14 HourlyJob Title: General Maintenance Worker Location: Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico Job Type: Full-Time General Summary: Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge, but not trade-level proficiency. Assists qualified craftsmen in the performance of their specific duties and performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery that does not require specific or special trade training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects and changes air filters. Repairs small holes in sheetrock or plaster. Replaces light bulbs and other basic fixtures. Clears clogged plumbing drains. Assists qualified craftsmen (electricians, HVAC mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, etc.) in the performance of their specific duties. Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery not requiring specific trade training. Works with team members to maintain the upkeep of the facility grounds. Performs other duties as assigned.   Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements: GED or High School Diploma. Prior general maintenance, facilities, or handyman experience preferred. Experience working in both indoor and outdoor building environments. Experience assisting skilled trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry) preferred but not required. Ability to understand verbal or written direction from a lead, supervisor, or other craftsmen. Obtain and maintain required certifications.   Work Environment: Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.   Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening, conducted after a conditional offer of employment. Employees must be able to obtain and maintain any base/installation access credentials required by the location.
