A Day in the Life | Responsibilities We Trust You With:  

  • Operate canning and filling equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety. 
  • Assist the Canner Operator in maintaining product quality, including package quality of can ends and double seams. 
  • Thoroughly clean the canner following production runs. 
  • Lubricate the canner thoroughly before and during production runs as needed. 
  • Help with product changeovers, shutdowns, and startups. 
  • Inform maintenance of any machine difficulties and collaborate on solutions. 
  • Accurately complete cover usage sheets. 
  • Coordinate with the incoming shift to communicate any problems, issues, or concerns. 
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to plant rules and regulatory requirements. 
  • Understand the concept of sterility on the Dole Canner and seal integrity in plastic filling equipment. 
  • Be available to work more than eight hours per day and over 40 hours per week as necessary. 
  • Be willing to work alternating shifts as required. 
  • Comply with all food safety, quality, and customer requirements. 


What You Must Know | Education and Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Forklift License.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written methods. 
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize sub-standard issues and escalate them appropriately. 
  • Ability to follow work directions and maintain organizational standards.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Flexibility to handle multiple demands and assist others as needed.

Your Working Relationships | Leadership:  

You will work closely with the Canner Operator, Maintenance, and other Dole Operators to ensure smooth operations. You are expected to communicate effectively with your team to address any issues that arise.
