WHAT YOU’LL DO 

As a Parts Counter Person, you’ll be the go-to resource for both customers and our service team, ensuring they get the right parts quickly, accurately, and with top-notch service. You will: 

➤ Assist retail and shop customers with selecting parts, providing product information, quotes, and guidance on companion items and specials. 

➤ Deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers with a professional, friendly approach. 

➤ Pull, fill, and prepare orders; set up shipments, deliveries, and pick-ups; ensure all internal requests are billed correctly. 

➤ Manage inventory issues; notify Parts Manager of out-of-stock items, locate parts from outside sources, and submit emergency orders when needed. 

➤ Follow up on backordered or special-order parts with customers and service advisors. 

➤ Support outside sales representatives and solicit assigned accounts by phone. 

➤ Handle transactions, including payments, credit authorizations, issuing returns, and ensuring accurate invoices. 

➤ Maintain accurate records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special orders. 

➤ Keep counter areas and equipment clean, participate in training programs, and stay current on product updates. 

➤ Maintain a professional appearance and follow all health and safety policies. 

 

WHAT YOU BRING 

◆ Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. One to three years of related experience and/or training is preferred  (or equivalent combination). 

◆ Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. ASE or Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist certifications are a plus.  

◆ Communication Skills: Able to read instructions and manuals, write basic reports, and clearly communicate with customers and team members. 

◆ Physical Requirements: May require occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling. May occasionally be required to lift, carry or move parts or materials up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs as needed. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, and color differentiation.
