Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Mission Assurance Engineer. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC2) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Operational Software Sustainment Program (IOSSP). Our focus is on ensuring process execution and quality is built into the development, testing, and release of software deliverables.

Responsibilities include Mission Assurance/Software Quality oversight and support of seven domains and four subcontractors. The successful candidate will effectively manage risk through strict adherence to established Processes, such as SEMP, SOW, PWS, TCTO, CDRL, SSR, SDR, PDR, FCA, PCA, QAPP, and ECB.

Specific tasks include:

  • Ensuring the development and implementation of robust Software Quality plans, documents, checklists, and training materials.

  • Performing internal and external audits to identify and resolve deficiencies.

  • Utilizing Government PIEE Wide Area Workflow Portal to document deliveries against the contract.

  • Providing senior technical oversight for problem resolution activities, root cause analysis, and preventive/corrective action implementation.

  • Working within multiple security classifications with team members located at multiple sites and across multiple subcontractors.

  • Supporting development of software metrics.

  • Supporting Peer Reviews of artifacts for engineering release.

  • Working as a specific Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software within the ICBM-Sustainment team.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 12 years of related experience, OR Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, OR PhD and 8 years of related experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years

  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the processes, plans, standards, industry practices and/or tools required of a mission-critical program.

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Cameo, DOORS, Gitlab, and/or static analysis tools.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment

  • Experience in Peer Reviews, Code Reviews and audits

  • Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test

  • Able to read and understand Software Code (ADA, FORTRAN, Adobe Flex, C++, Java, Python, etc.)
