Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health diagnosis. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical service, and research.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for improving the competency of direct service staff and providing structured processes for them to learn and develop clinical skills. Provides opportunities for clinical staff to explore clinical practices, build theories, and examine how they may act in their professional roles. Develops a framework for evaluating clinical skills, abilities, and knowledge. Supervises and assists clinical staff in performing substance abuse and mental health counseling work on both an individual patient basis and in a group setting. Responsible for providing clinical services to patients as needed and documenting in accordance with company standards. Reviews and signs Psychosocial Assessments completed by the Clinical Assessor and may also be required to complete Psychosocial Assessments themselves as needed to maintain regulatory compliance. Provides supervision and guidance for Recovery Peer Specialists with a focus on developing their skills in advocacy, mentoring, recovery support, and professional responsibility.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) certified by the Florida Certification Board
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to write accurately and legibly
- Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
- Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop and reach
- Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
- Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
- Good hearing and vision
