About Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions

Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions is a fast-growing Defense technology company headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. Founded by US and UK veterans, Marcurius brings decades of frontline experience across Special Operations and Intelligence missions, with deep expertise in asymmetric warfare and the real-world employment of unmanned systems.

Marcurius is building a new kind of unmanned systems company- multi-domain, multi-platform, and mission-driven. We fuse battle-proven technologies, resilient command-and-control architectures, and operator-led doctrine to deliver capabilities that work in contested environments. Our initial focus is the rapid fielding of advanced Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for modern maritime operations.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer / Integration Lead to own the technical architecture across multiple craft classes and ensure hull, electrical, autonomy, mission systems, and vendor-delivered subsystems come together as one coherent product family.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role at the center of the program. You will define and enforce system architecture, control interface logic across all subsystems, manage requirements and verification, and drive technical integration across internal teams and external partners.

You are not coordinating the system — you are responsible for making it work.

This role is critical to early program success. Poor interface control and architectural drift create integration issues that are difficult to recover later in the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain system architecture across multiple USV classes, defining what is common and what is platform-specific
  • Define, enforce, and control interfaces across all major subsystems and vendors
  • Develop and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and ensure compliance across teams and partners
  • Own the system requirements structure, including traceability, allocation, and verification logic
  • Lead early-stage architecture and commonality trade studies across platforms to drive product family decisions
  • Identify, track, and actively manage system-level integration risks before they become hardware issues
  • Lead and drive technical integration reviews, design reviews (PDR/CDR), and test readiness reviews
  • Make and enforce system-level decisions when integration conflicts arise across disciplines or vendors
  • Coordinate and maintain configuration baseline logic with engineering leads and ensure design consistency
  • Own architecture decisions related to autonomy integration, mission systems, and Ground Control Station (GCS), including operator workflows and multi-platform consistency
  • Chair technical interface discussions with vendors and internal teams, driving clear decisions and accountability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or technical program delivery on complex vehicle, maritime, or defense programs
  • Demonstrated experience defining and managing subsystem interfaces across multiple teams or vendors
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG, JAMA, or similar
  • Strong ability to operate across mechanical, electrical, software, and test disciplines
  • Experience leading or contributing to formal design reviews such as PDR, CDR, or equivalent

Preferred

  • Experience with unmanned systems in maritime, air, or ground environments
  • Familiarity with MBSE / SysML tools
  • Maritime or naval systems exposure
  • Startup, prototype, or early-phase product development experience
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one

Why this role matters

This role is the integration nerve center of the program. The right person will prevent interface debt, enforce architectural discipline, align vendors and internal engineering, and ensure the system develops as a coherent, testable, and deliverable product family.

Physical Requirements

This role is hands-on and field-oriented. The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position:

  • Ability to work onsite in shipyard, fabrication, and marine testing environments
  • Ability to board vessels and work in confined mechanical spaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during testing and sea trials
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for supplier visits, testing, and operational support
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Environment

  • Onsite engineering and build environment
  • Direct involvement in prototyping and sea trials
  • Fast-paced development cycles with aggressive timelines
  • Customer, end-user and internal team facing
