We are seeking an experienced Conformal Coating Operator to join our electronics manufacturing team. In this role, you will apply protective coatings to printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to safeguard them against environmental factors like moisture, dust, and chemicals. You will manage the entire coating workflow, from precision masking to machine operation, manual touch-ups, and quality inspection under UV light.

Core Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation & Masking: Read engineering drawings and routing sheets to apply specialized tape, boots, or dots to components that must remain clear of coatings (e.g., connectors, test points).
  • Coating Application: Operate dispensing/spray systems and perform manual brush applications.
  • Material Mixing & Chemistry: Safely handle, mix, and measure liquid compounds-including acrylics, polyurethanes, silicones, and epoxies-to proper viscosity and ratio specifications.
  • Curing Control: Manage thermal curing ovens, strictly adhering to designated bake profiles and cycle times.
  • Quality Inspection: Utilize UV inspection lamps and microscopes to verify coating thickness, uniformity, and coverage according to IPC standards.
  • Rework & Touch-up: Manually remove excess coating, clear blocked holes, and reapply material to correct defects or anomalies.
  • Maintenance & Inventory: Disassemble, clean, and rebuild spray guns and fluid lines. Monitor chemical shelves using FIFO (First In, First Out) and Kanban controls.
