Program Summary

KBR Metrology  supports Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garrett Advance Motion, and their suppliers with services including onsite/offsite laboratory visits, test equipment calibration and repair, AMS2750 pyrometry services, metrology engineering, and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance, equipment sourcing, CMM inspections, automation and programming, measurement technical support, calibration recall system management, and performance tracking dashboards.

Job Summary

Metrology Technician III will provide day to day support for the Metrology Program Calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with other technicians as well as primary for onsite oven calibrations.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs calibration and repairs on electrical, physical/mechanical, and dimensional equipment.

  • Calibrates laboratory standards and ensures documentation aligns with Quality Systems.

  • Conducts complex configuration tests and interprets schematics and testing procedures.

  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and repair work on electronic and instrumentation equipment.

  • Generates detailed reports on system conditions, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

  • Uses and maintains metrology lab test equipment proficiently across multiple measurement areas.

  • Provides guidance on equipment operation and assists customers in defining technical requirements.

  • Performs complex maintenance, including inspection and diagnostics using schematics and computer tools.

  • Ensures safe working practices and compliance with HSE requirements.

  • Resolves issues, improves departmental productivity, and proactively addresses potential problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 6+ years experience in the field, OR Associates degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 4 years experience. Formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training with proof of attendance.

  •  Technician will be inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM.

  • Previous customer service experience is a plus

  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus+.

  • Proficient using Microsoft technology, including Excel

  • PMEL, TMDE or calibration school a plus+
