Clearwater is a provider of engineering, circuit card assembly, OEM Avionics, and MRO services to commercial and military customers. Products and technologies here are diverse and highly sophisticated. Your work will contribute to systems that manage the performance of Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft as well as F-18s, F-35s, Harriers, and Apaches. Role Overview

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet our stringent safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering, project management, and a deep understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and related documentation
  • Design and build / procure necessary fixtures and tooling to manufacture electronic assemblies and products
  • Support assembly equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to manufacturing processes and / or equipment
  • Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action
  • Support EHS projects in cell
  • Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements
  • Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
  • Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
  • Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
  • Support the quality function through integration of ISO / QC documentation and manufacturing work instructions
  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability
  • Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
  • Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track/drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
  • Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations
  • Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity defects and increased productivity in the Cell

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in running, supporting, troubleshooting, fixing, and resolving line issues with some of the following Circuit Card Assembly Cells: SMT Prep, Mag-Load, Fuji SMT, SPI, Reflow Ovens, Through Hole, Hand Assembly, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, Bonding, Conformal Coating, DePanel, Final Assembly, and Box load
  • Experience in supporting and programming some of the following CCA assembly equipment:  Glue Machine, Laser Etcher, SPI, Fuji AIMEX III SMT, AOI, Xray, AXI, Press Fit, Trace Cut, Aqueous Wash, Conformal Coating, PVA, Selective Solder, Wave Solder, and BGA Rework
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong mechanical design ability
  • Ability to manage priorities and achieve results
  • Prior exposure to and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong manufacturing process knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
