If you take pride in producing high-quality welds, value safety, and enjoy working in a production environment, we want to hear from you! Position Overview As a welder you will perform MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc welding (FCAW) operations with limited supervision, producing quality welds in accordance with drawings, weld procedures, and production schedules. You will work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. What You’ll Do Perform MIG and FCAW welding independently Prepare materials (cutting, grinding, fitting, cleaning, tacking) Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and travelers Set up and troubleshoot welding equipment and fixtures Inspect your own welds for quality, penetration, and appearance Identify and report defects or material discrepancies Maintain production flow and documentation accuracy Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized workstation Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives What We’re Looking For 2-5 years of welding and fabrication experience (or demonstrated equivalent skill) Experience with MIG Flux-Cored Arc welding Working knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols Strong understanding of weld preparation, heat input, and distortion High school diploma or GED preferred AWS certification preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment Our Standards of Excellence 100% safety compliance and PPE adherence High-quality workmanship with minimal rework Strong attendance and reliability Continuous training and skill development Maintaining clean, 5S-compliant workstations Why Join Orthman Conveying Systems?
