Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Corporate FinanceΒ  |Β  Remote (U.S.)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Manager, FP&A to join our Corporate Finance team supporting a diversified holding company with 14 operating companies ranging up to $500 million in revenue. Reporting to the SVP of Finance this role will partner with operating company (Opco) finance leaders on planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis that drives better decisions across the portfolio.

This is a high-visibility seat for a curious, self-directed finance professional who wants to make processes better β€” not just run them. Corporate has built out a strong stack of reporting, planning, and analytics tools, and we are actively integrating AI and automation into our workflows. The right candidate will use that leverage to do more than a traditional FP&A role focusing on insights vs mechanics, and will have meaningful runway to grow into broader corporate or Opco finance leadership.

What You'll Do

Support financial reporting and consolidation for corporate and the operating companies by improving visibility into performance, surfacing risks before they become surprises, and making finance partners more data-driven so Opco teams can stay focused on profitable growth.

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Opcos on actuals, monthly forecasts, in month outlooks, AOP, and strat plan; consolidate inputs and review for reasonableness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Prepare consolidated and Opco-level reporting for management and opcos; own assigned schedules and ensure on-time, error-free delivery.
  • Analysis across the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow; develop clear commentary tied to business drivers rather than just account-level moves.
  • Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs) with assigned Opcos; track follow-ups and ensure issues raised are resolved between meetings.
  • Manage the annual Opco Task List process with the Opcos collecting and analyzing key business information.

Analysis & Decision Support

  • Build and maintain financial models for capex, project ROI, scenario planning, working capital, and ad-hoc strategic questions.
  • Partnering with corporate functions including HR and Legal on projects like annual merits and bonuses and ad hoc analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow across Opcos and partner with Treasury and Opco controllers on working capital optimization opportunities including 13 week cash forecast.
  • Support corporate function requests (Tax, Legal, Insurance, Treasury) with timely, well-sourced data.

Process, Tools & AI

  • Take ownership of recurring deliverables (actuals, forecast, MOR, Task List, etc.) and continuously improve them β€” faster cycle times, better insight, fewer manual touches.
  • Develop dashboards, templates, and self-service tools in AI/Claude and Tableau that give Opcos and Corporate the insightful picture of the business.
  • Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities (workflow automation, reporting, analysis, model checks, narrative drafting).

Cross-Opco Partnership

  • Coach and help develop Opco FP&A and accounting teams; share best practices, templates, and tools across the portfolio.
  • Support Opco employee onboarding and provide interim FP&A capacity when the situation calls for it.
  • Help drive 80/20, Lean, and other profit and process improvement initiatives at the Opcos.

Why This Role

  • Direct exposure to both Corporate and the 14 operating businesses β€” broad lens that few corporate roles offer at this level.
  • A small corporate team (SVP Finance plus two Finance leads) means high visibility, fast feedback, and a clear runway into broader Corporate or Opco finance leadership.
  • Strong tooling already in place plus an explicit mandate to introduce more automation and AI β€” you build leverage rather than fight legacy processes.
  • Opportunity to move into an operating company for multiple roles.

Compensation

Base salary range: $100,000 – $125,000, commensurate with experience. Position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Β

We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting experience, ideally with exposure to multi-entity or multi-division environments.
  • Intellectual curiosity: You ask why the number is what it is, not just what the number is. You push to understand the business behind the financials and you bring ideas, not just answers.
  • Technical: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; demonstrated proficiency in Power BI or Tableau; exposure to AI; comfort working in an EPM environment (Hyperion, Oracle Planning, or similar) and a major ERP.
  • Accuracy: Track record of producing reporting and analysis that holds up to scrutiny β€” your numbers tie, your assumptions are documented, and your work product can go to executives without rework.
  • Project management: Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, calendars, and stakeholders to hit deadlines without prompting.
  • Independent thinking: Comfortable operating with limited daily oversight, owning ambiguity, and proposing the path forward.
  • Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication with finance and non-finance partners; can tailor the message to a controller, a GM, or the C-suite.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or CMA.
  • Manufacturing, industrial services, or other multi-site operating company experience.
  • Cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis exposure.
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI tools, Python/SQL, Alteryx, or other automation platforms in a finance setting.
  • Prior involvement in M&A diligence, integration, or carve-out activity.
