Overview

NOTE: This is an adjunct instructional position. Course assignments are made on a semester-by-semester basis and are contingent upon departmental needs, student enrollment, and scheduling availability. As such, hours are not guaranteed, and teaching opportunities may not be available immediately upon hire.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and related manufacturing instruction in face-to-face, lab, hybrid, online, and customized training. Instruction may occur on campus or at employer locations. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction..

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):

 

(100%) Instruction

  • Facilitate student learning in CNC machining and manufacturing courses. 
  • Teach CNC programming, setup, operation, blueprint reading, measurement, safety, and CNC manufacturing processes. 
  • Assess student performance and maintain course materials. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry partners. 
  • Maintain safe laboratory environments. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in Machine Tool Technology, or related field required.  
  • Minimum 4,000 hours of recent CNC/manufacturing experience required.  
  • Teaching or training experience preferred. 

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION: 

  • NIMS credentials preferred. OSHA certification preferred. WTCS FQAS requirements must be met.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
•    The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. 
•    The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
•    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•    Work environment may require multi-tasking.  
•    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

CONDITION(S) OF EMPLOYMENT:

•    Employment is conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) with the results acceptable to the college.

•    Must meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements within 5 years of employment.
