ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Commissioning Agent to support the successful delivery of construction and energy projects by verifying that building systems are installed, tested, and operating in accordance with design intent.

In this role, you will act as an independent representative, working closely with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure quality, performance, and compliance across all phases of a project.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead commissioning activities for assigned projects from design through completion
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and system testing for HVAC, electrical, and building systems
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify issues and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure project quality and adherence to standards
  • Participate in and lead project meetings as needed
  • Prepare commissioning documentation including monthly reports and final project reports
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation using commissioning platforms (e.g., CxPlanner)
  • Ensure systems meet performance requirements, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Support continuous improvement of commissioning standards and processes

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Experience in commissioning, construction, or building systems (HVAC, electrical, controls, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Willingness and ability to obtain commissioning certifications (BCA, CBCP, LEED, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
