Description

Frantz Ward LLP, a 90-attorney Cleveland, Ohio law firm, seeks a Construction Litigation Paralegal to support the firm’s Construction Practice Group. Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred. The Construction Litigation Paralegal provides paralegal services to attorneys and acts as liaison between the attorney and the case files throughout all stages of litigation, pre-trial investigation and preparation.  

Requirements

 

  •  Organize contracts, plans, specifications, letters and other legal/construction documents.
  •  Review, categorize and organize large numbers of documents for internal use and for outside production to opposing parties.
  • Assist attorneys in carrying out preparations for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Manage own caseload and provide attorneys with all necessary assistance in order to provide economical and efficient services for clients. 
  • File documents in both state and federal courts and prepare e-filing when appropriate
  • Coordinate trial or hearing logistics, exhibits, technology, displays, etc.
  • Coordinate electronic productions with clients, attorneys and third party vendors
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial presentation. 
  • Assist attorneys in preparing a wide variety of corporate organizational documents, creating and maintaining corporate minute books.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College Degree in Business Administration, paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Construction Litigation.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with E-Discovery platforms needed, and IPRO/Eclipse is preferred.

Experience/Education

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, personable and have the ability to interact and develop relationships with attorneys, clients, staff and external vendors.
  • Ability to work well in demanding and fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Exhibit sound judgment, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is critical.
  • Proficient computer and skills using a variety of software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various other systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, shifting responsibilities, organize and prioritize work
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs. 


  

Compensation: Starting at $70,000 per year, with higher compensation available based on experience.
