Job Description: Full-time Lead Facilitator
Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) is an educational non-profit that partners with schools and
youth serving community partners providing students and educators with a rigorous curriculum for
21st Century Skills development, reinforcing essential social and emotional and work force
development skills. ELA has grown from partnering with 3 schools in 2008, to developing
relationships with over 265 school/community organizations and impacting over 60,000 students.
This is an exciting time to join our growing team as we have recently expanded beyond Ohio and
predict continued growth.
POSITION:
The Lead Facilitator is a trained Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) team member who's primary
function is to facilitate all ELA programs.
In addition, the Lead Facilitator will work with designated school partners to build strong working
relationships, coordinate existing programs, and strategically continue to expand these specific
relationships/contracts to ensure that ELA remains a leader in our field.
EXPECTATIONS:
ï‚· Responsible for delivery and facilitation of all ELA programs; CAMP LEAD, Pathways to Success,
LEAD's, Career Leadership Academy (CLA) and other key ELA programming, delivered both in person
and virtually online.
o Program delivery typically averages 70% to 90% of weekly schedule
ï‚· This position requires travel to programming across multiple northeast Ohio counties, so a
valid driver's license and your own personal and reliable transportation is required.
ï‚· Deliver programs employing ELA divergent learning pedagogy, serving as "guide on the
side" to enable students to construct meaning from their experiences.
ï‚· Manage the classroom and its participants during programming which includes but is not
limited to tracking attendance, recognizing and addressing inappropriate behaviors,
observing and documenting all aspects of student performance
ï‚· Administer the pre/post assessments and develop program impact reports in a timely
manner
ï‚· Form relationships with students to build community and rapport, motivating and inspiring them,
giving them confidence to make positive choices in their lives for success in school and beyond.
ï‚· Maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, school administration, and
depending on the program, parents and/or community members.
ï‚· Maintain open communication to report any potential and/or current issues to ELA Senior
Leadership Team.
ï‚· Responsible for all administrative tasks related to program/program preparation, including
preparation of program materials/program review/updating PowerPoints to adjust for time
and school language.
ï‚· Participate in ELA training and professional development.
ï‚· Attend all ELA staff meetings when not in programming
ï‚· Work collaboratively and bring a positive mindset to the team.
ï‚· Creatively solve problems and bring new ideas for efficiency and growth.
ï‚· Collaborate with ELA staff on a variety of daily administrative tasks and special projects.
ï‚· Hybrid work model: Typical hours range between 7-3pm or 8-4pm based on programming
needs. Mondays are regarded as a required in-person day. Programming can be up to 5
days per week across NEO schools or partners. When not in programming, presence in
office may be required to prepare for future programming, collaborate with team, or attend
required in-person meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
ï‚· Bachelor's degree in education or associated field

ï‚· Experience working with diverse populations of youth
ï‚· Experience teaching programs both in-person and virtually preferred
ï‚· Strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and email
ï‚· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
ï‚· Team player and strong interpersonal and communication skills
ï‚· High energy and positive mental attitude
ï‚· Ability to be agile and adapt to changing situations
ï‚· Maintains confidentiality of all student information
ï‚· Adheres to the ELA curriculum with fidelity, as well as all copyrights and trademarks
ï‚· Desire to grow within an organization is preferred
REPORTS TO: Head of Talent Acquisition
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS, and WORKING CONDITIONS:
ï‚· Ability to be present at ELA offices, NEO schools, businesses, or organizations to facilitate,
observe, or assist with programming when assigned
ï‚· Ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand as well as
observe details within the workplace or in programming to engage coworkers, students,
clients, and perform essential functions
ï‚· Stand and interactively present/facilitate material for several hours over the duration of
programming
ï‚· Ability to drive/sit for up to one hour each way while traveling to programming and/or client
meetings
ï‚· Ability to lift and safely transport up to 20 lbs. of program materials from office to car to
school/organization and/or move up to 20 lbs. across office for various needs.
ï‚· Must be able to be in a stationary position to operate computer, type, (for extended periods
of time/50% to 75%) use copy and printing machine, and other office machinery as needed
ï‚· Ability to position self to maintain files in desk, cabinets, or facilitation materials
ï‚· For virtual programming and/or meetings:
o Self-provide a secure, private, and stable internet connection
o Be able to work in a private, reduced-noise environment free from distractions and
interruptions
o Be able effectively operate Zoom meetings
o Be able to perform ELA programming function via Zoom
o Sit/remain in a stationary position for at least 60 minutes
