Birch Agency is seeking a passionate and dedicated Intervention Specialist to join our team and support students in a K8 public charter school located in Cleveland, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity for a special education professional who is committed to helping students reach their academic, social, and personal goals in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The school serves a diverse community with many Spanish-speaking families, making this a rewarding opportunity for educators who value cultural connection, collaboration, and student advocacy. Spanish language skills are welcomed but not required.
What You'll Do
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans to support student success.
Provide specialized instruction and targeted interventions based on individual student needs.
Deliver differentiated instruction that supports a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and developmental levels.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to ensure students have access to meaningful learning opportunities.
Monitor student progress through data collection and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
Support students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and independence.
Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with special education requirements.
What You Bring
Experience working as an Intervention Specialist, Special Education Teacher, or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of special education practices, child development, and instructional methodologies.
Ability to create positive relationships with students and provide individualized support.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Understanding of classroom safety procedures and educational best practices.
A patient, adaptable, and student-centered approach.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching license/certification.
Previous experience supporting students with disabilities preferred.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
