POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving IT systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting both end users and critical business systems.

The intern will gain exposure to a variety of IT functions including help desk support, systems administration, and process improvement initiatives, while contributing to a capstone project at the conclusion of the internship.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to end users, including hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (user account setup, equipment provisioning, access management)
  • Support maintenance and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings across systems
  • Support IT projects related to system upgrades, implementations, or process improvements
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business technology needs
  • Assist with monitoring system performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Complete a capstone project and present findings and recommendations to leadership

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and systems in a hands-on environment


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 

Experience:

  • Previous coursework, projects, or internship experience in IT or technical support preferred but not required
